Memorable Items I STILL Love From My Wedding Registry

How to pick out a memorable gift from the wedding registry and still be remembered for it for years to come!

I had a very large and long wedding registry. It was my moment to get all the “nice” pots and pans and matching dinnerware! Now when I scroll through the list of other people’s registries I want something special and personal but also want to get them something they want! I’ve been married for 3.5 years now and below are gifts from my registry, and some not that are truly memorable yet maybe unexpected that I think of the person every time I use. I hope these inspire you on your wedding registry hunt!

Joseph Joseph Cutting Board

These are SO handy and sit right out on my counter. These were a gift from one of my mom’s friends and I think of her every time I use them (which is everyday). These cutting boards are great quality, dishwasher safe and I honestly use them every single day. A specific and individualized gift like these tabbed cutting boards would be a great wedding registry gift. Find it on Amazon here. A less expensive Martha Stewart set can be found here.

Utensil Crock

Don’t laugh! This was actually recommended by a friend, she said that she remembered who gave her the utensil crock. That got me thinking when I registered for a Fiestaware one, to match my dishes, the person who gave it to me still is thought about! She was a colleague at the time and while we have lost touch I think of her and send her good thoughts often. All stemming from when I use my utensil crock! It’s another thing that can sit on your counter and is front and center. Any Utensil Crock will do but I love my Fiestaware one! They come in so many colors, a great choice for your dishes. Find it on Amazon here!

Personalized Trivet

Photo is courtesy of Etsy Shop LetsEngrave!

My trivet is in awful shape because I use it SO much. I’m not going to share a photo but it is genuinely well loved. This is very similar to the style! New last name, then a date of the wedding, etc. I love the person who gave this to me and it’s such a handy gift. I do love some personalized gifts, but sometimes they’re too much, I don’t want my name on EVERYTHING. A trivet is a wonderful personalized gift that is likely off their wedding registry but will be very well loved. Usually I am not a proponent of going off registry but this is an exception!

Anything Crystal – Candlesticks, Wine Glasses or Ring Holders

Admission: I have only used my candlesticks like 5 times. They are proudly displayed on the built in cabinets in my living room and I always think about bringing them out for special occasions. I loved getting these because people don’t register for crystal anymore but having a great pair of candlesticks is an art form we can’t forget! They’re great to pull out and light during special dinners, holidays and even to dress up the dinner table for a Monday night! They’re memorable, they’re classic and a friend would be so appreciate to have an heirloom like this. Another idea, and something that I love to use are my crystal wine glasses. A really pretty Waterford set of 2 or 4 will elevate future celebrations! My crystal wine glasses look similar to this. I also was given a crystal ring holder like this which sits on my nightstand.

Wine Anniversary Box

Another “not on the registry” idea. We received a Anniversary Wine Box that was years 1, 2 and 3 (probably a safe bet). We just drank the last bottle and we always looked forward to opening a new bottle each anniversary! A great non-registry gift idea!!

Contribution Towards Our Grass

4 days after our wedding with the keys to our new house!

We were very fortunate (and stressed) to be closing on our new house only a few days after getting married. Here is something they don’t tell you when you build a new house – THE GRASS ISN’T INCLUDED!! We used Zola.com to register and we set up a grass fund. I STILL sometimes sit outside and think about those people who contributed to help us get our grass in before we closed on our house. I’m forever grateful! It was a great way to give “cash” but still do something special. Other ideas would be to set up a fund for a new Traeger BBQ or a patio furniture set!

Something I Wish I Put On My Wedding Registry:

Christmas Dishes and Decor

Wedding Registry Christmas Dinnerware

I love my mom’s Spode Christmas Tree plates. I would love even a Spode serveware set. This isn’t something people think to put on their registry but HOW FUN to pull this out and use it every year. There are holiday cheese boards and dip bowl sets. Think outside the box here, if they love to entertain, they’ll likely want to host holiday parties and need some great quality dishes to do so! This would be a great gift that has lasting memories and gives joy every year!
