It’s time for another edition of Powersheets Roundup! How did I really do in August and what am I working on in September?
People, get on my goal setting level! I love writing this stuff down, working towards my goals and CROSSING THINGS OFF MY LIST! Check out my August recap and September goals.
August 2019 Tending List Recap
Monthly Goals
- Get into habit of using Simplified Planner.
- I think I did great here, used it everyday with to-do lists, appointments, etc. I set up the week on Sunday and adjusted as needed. I’m loving the WEEKLY setup (I used daily last year, and it was too much space) I like being able to see all my to-do’s for the week at once glance.
- Finish Mayes Instagram Course.
- I really enjoyed this course and learned a lot of good tidbits from it. Now I just need to put what I learned in action.
- Get more familiar with Tailwind.
- NO progress here. I moved it to September.
- Create a BPCo Content Calendar
- I didn’t, and it’s probably why I sucked so bad at blogging this month. Time for a restart!
- Exceeded Basecamp client expectations
- I think we added some value for clients, went above and beyond what is listed in our contract. Always remembering to put client’s first and give them more than what they expect.
- Release 2 Faith Revisited episodes.
- We did release 2! The first was all about Friendship (surprise surprise) and the second was a great interview with Rev Adam Hamilton who is the lead pastor at the largest United Methodist Church in the country. I loved talking to him and hearing is point of view on the changes in the UMC denomination. You can listen to the podcast on iTunes!
- Begin planning Italy trip!
- So I finalized what days we will be where. I put “book accommodations” to my September goals.
- Read them BOOOOOOOKS
- I’ve been struggling to find a book to get me hooked again. On its way is American Royals which was Ashley Brooke’s Book Club pick for this month. I also convinced my mom to order Reese’s Book Club pick so I can read it after. The Secrets We Kept also looked great!
- Make a lump payment on the house
- We scheduled a call with our Financial Advisor and decided to just hold the cash for now because with a potential recession looming we may want to keep our options open – pay off a chunk of the house, invest in the stock market when it’s down or buy an investment property. We opened a high yielding savings account to hold the money for now. American Express Personal Savings and Ally Online Savings Account both have 1.9% APR which way above the national average. I didn’t know about these before, and I’m SO glad I do now. Look into it!
- Plan a gathering of people
- I did put a Pooler Supper Club on the calendar for September so I count that. Also we had a hurricane party with 7 adults, 2 children and 5 dogs at our house. I consider that a gathering even though it happened the first week of September!
Weekly Goals
Overall I didn’t do GREAT with weekly goals. Need to get back in sync with these.
- Date night with Thomas
- Meal Plan for the week
- Clean up office space
- Write the Word Journal
Daily Goals
I’m NOT good at tracking daily goals. I just don’t remember to fill them out even though my powersheets sit right next to my computer. I need to work on water consumption and towards the end of the month I wasn’t working out at all.
- 75 oz of water
- Fitness is my witness (30 mins)
- Journal/Gratitude
- Write for BPCo
- Read for 20 mins minimum
September Tending List
Monthly Goals
- Stick to BPCo Content Calendar
- Really going to get after it this month
- Book Rome and Florence Accommodations
- Find & Read 2 great books
- I think and hope it’s going to be The Secrets We Kept and American Royal
- Design to BPCO Postcard Pack (& submit for gift guides)
- Organized Media Event & Prep, Prep, Prep.
- We have our first Basecamp Media Event being put on my husband (and me). Some of the top companies in our industry have signed on AND will be staying onsite in October. Our goal is to be so organized and exceed expectations so this can be an annual event.
- Use Tailwind!
- Giving this another go. Fingers crossed.
- Pooler Supper Club
- On the calendar! It’s a small group at my church for those of us who live in the suburbs.
- Relax before a crazy October.
- Really trying to slow down this month and help my husband not over-schedule himself. October is insane and then the rest of the year will happen before we know it, so I’m really trying to soak in this month.
- Handle the Laundry Room
- This is the one room in our house that just seemed to always be a disaster. Luckily, I already did this when we had a hurricane party and decided to just wash EVERYTHING in there.
- Use Prayer Journal
- I’ve really felt the need to write down my prayers, even just in list format for people and things that are in my prayers. I picked out a notebook (one of my earlier samples that I designed and going to make it a practice).
Weekly Goals & Daily Goals
Pretty much same as before! Keeping it simple! Trying to work on keeping better track.
