World Gratitude Day is every year on September 21st. In honor of this day I’m sharing my Gratitude Brain Dump! Basically, I wrote down categories and made a jumbled list of everything I appreciate and am grateful for. It’s a great practice to do whenever you’re in a funk but even better try to head off the funk by doing it once a month.
I write down 5 pieces of gratitude every morning as part of my Start Today Journal and then go over gratitude at night as well. I’m going to do the entire Gratitude Brain Dump without looking back at my notes haha. Fresh gratitude!! Here we go::
World Gratitude Day – Gratitude Brain Dump
Family
- My husband who is the greatest partner I could ever hope for
- My parents and siblings who I love and care for dearly
- Extended family who have cheered me on
- Friends that I choose to see as family
- Working from home for the benefit of my future children
- Duke the defender who keeps me safe and on my toes
Work
- The good companies I am fortunate enough to work for
- Having enough financial security to not worry about money
- Being able to pursue my passion for friendship
- Working alongside my husband, learning and sharing his knowledge
- Never needing to ask for time off
- Freedom of location
Home
- A big beautiful new home on a quiet cul de sac
- A big kitchen and dinner table for entertaining
- A quick drive to Downtown Savannah, the most beautiful city full of history
- A trailer “home on the road” allows for travel and camping year round
- Paid off cars in the driveway
Health
- Quality exercise gear to push me and get me into shape
- No major health issues within my circle
- A great DPC doctor who is always available
- Affordable and great health insurance
- Ears to hear a variety of music
- My able body so I can work and play
Soul
- A deepened religious practice at 30 years old
- Centered in and actively practicing prayer
- An active membership at Trinity UMC
- Involved and growing programs/congregation at Trinity UMC
- Faith based podcast that has been downloaded over 1,000 times
Other
- Those who serve or have served and fought for my freedoms
- Family/Friends who have passed but still leave an imprint on my heart
- Innovators and entrepreneurs who don’t follow the status quo
- Food, Shelter and Clothing which I often take for granted
Other ways you can practice gratitude is mailing a friendship postcard out to let your friend’s know you’re thankful for them. It can also be as simple as calling or texting those you love and letting them know. Happy World Gratitude Day!
