A Girls Movie Night is one of the best and easiest ways to hang with your favorite friends, forget the daily struggles and spend some time unwinding. The noshing part is easy, have a friend bring veggies and hummus, another the popcorn, another something sweet for dessert and you supply 2 bottles of wine. That’s the recipe for the perfect movie night. Don’t overthink it!
The only HARD part is putting a date on your calendar, but text a few friends now and select a date even if it’s two weeks out. Here are my favorite movies to stick in the DVD player OR stream OR Redbox my friend!
Literally ANY of the Pitch Perfect Movies
Aca-beleive it! I know what you’re thinking, now I am a huge Pitch Perfect fan but I’m also the first to admit they get progressively worse thematically as the sequel came out and then the third. They are entertaining movies though, you can’t deny that! This is a great movie series to get together and watch- corny jokes, GREAT acapella covers and one of the funniest female cast lineups. Don’t overthink it, go for this made for girls night movie! Feel free to sing along during the Kelly Clarkson “Since You Been Gone” scene.

The Greatest Showman
THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOWWWWW. This may just be a list of MY favorite movies, but this cannot be denied that it is an amazing movie. The costumes, the actors, the soundtrack, the DANCING, Zac Efron in a role he was born to play?! I don’t need to continue on. If even one person in your group hasn’t seen it yet the decision has already been made for you. You’re going to want the DVD/Blu Ray combo if you don’t have it because there is a sing a long option! Ocean’s 8
I’ll step away from the movie musicals for a moment to bring you a truly fabulous, strong ensemble female cast. WOW! I loved this movie, and have continued to watch it even though I know the ending! The females in this movie are insanely talented, the fashion is phenomenal and it’s such a lighthearted movie to watch. Everything you want for a girls night! Get it on Amazon Here!
Ghostbusters (2016)
Speaking of an amazing lineup of women, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Oh and Chris Hemsworth isn’t a terrible addition to the cast either. *Wink* This movie is slightly scary (I’m literally the biggest wuss) but hilarious and a fabulous remake if I do say so myself. I saw it in theaters with my girlfriends and couldn’t wait until it came out on DVD. Yes, I am one of those people that still by DVDs of movies I enjoy. The Holiday
I’ll say this as many times as it needs to be heard, you DO NOT need to wait for December to watch this movie! It’s a great year round flick! Feel free to dance around the room with Cameron Diaz singing “I’M MISTER BRIGHTTT SIDDEEEE.” Also under $5 on Amazon!
