Celebrate a Friend With These Creative Tips and Ideas!!
Your friend just got a promotion, took the LSAT or stood up to an evil coworker and you want to celebrate her?! Rightfully so! All of these are exciting no matter how big or small the life event. Below are 5 easy ways to let a friend know you’re proud of her and make her feel loved and recognized. You don’t even need to live in the same town with most of these suggestions! Super easy but meaningful, and that small touch will last a long time.
Send a Few Bucks Over Venmo for a Congratulatory Drink
“I’mma buy you a draaaank.” Lets be real, a drink usually costs between $8 and $12 depending on your level of high class cocktails, but send them a Hamilton over Venmo and let their first drink be on you that weekend! I will admit, I had to google who was on the front of the $10 bill but then kicked myself because I am a HUGE Hamilton musical nerd. Which you would know the opening line is “The $10 Founding Father.” Insert face to palm emoji here. This is a great way to celebrate a friend whether you live near or far!
Share a Fun Spotify Playlist
Gone are the days when we made mix CD’s off limewire to give to our friends but that same concept still can play out in Spotify! Make your friend a playlist of your current faves and some jams for them to rock out to and send the link! Emily Ley has great playlists that she updates each month on Spotify. Or make your own! The mixed tape of the future! Currently the Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber jam would be high on my sent playlist.
Text a $5 Starbucks Gift Card
My friend and I have been sending Starbucks giftcards back and forth for a while now and it’s so lovely to have that text come through. Knowing my next latte is an extra special treat from someone who is thinking about me feels wonderful. If you have an iPhone (may work similar on an Android?) and the Starbucks app downloaded you can scroll over where the gifs are in your text message and choose a gift card image and amount all in your text message! This is my favorite little iphone trick. You can also email gift cards from the app which I did before I knew about the texting trick.
Mail Them a Note
Stick a note in the mail that says how proud you are, that they are strong and fierce and kicked that situation in the booty. Whatever the celebration or hardship they overcame, being reminded days later when a letter pops into the mail will be something they cherish and love for a very long time. That appreciation grows tenfold. Our Pre-Stamped Friendship Postcards are ready and make it easy for you! Shop now!
Send Flowers (or Drop Them Off At Her Door)
If you live nearby and blessed enough to have a Trader Joes in town, stop by on your way home from work and surprise your friend with a plant or bouquet! Trader Joes also has an AMAZING selection of cards (as I mention in my thoughtful gift giving tips post). Just stop and drop them at her door, no need to barge in or if she’s not home. It’ll be the most wonderful surprise!
If you’re out of town, like I am to many of my friends, UrbanStems is affordable, farm fresh and fast. You can also give them your email address for free shipping! Farmgirl Flowers and Bouqs are other wonderful options and also support farmers. Many have delivery options available next day and I’ve loved the flowers I’ve received from Bouqs. You can even Amazon Prime flowers to your friend’s door!! Whaaaat.
